If the mixer has audio line-out, and your MacBookPro has an audio line-in you can record the output of the mixer in Garageband. Your mixer has two outputs - 1) 2x RCA and 2) 2x 1/4' TRS. You will need a cable with one pair of connectors matching the mixer output you want to use, and on the other end a single 3/8' (aka 2.5mm) male stereo plug to connect to your MacBookPro.
While you are at it, take a look at the volume bar below and make sure that your output volume is turned up and Mute is unchecked. This should restore audio to your native Mac speakers. If you click on the system tray icon you can open the standard sound regulator, the playback devices, mute on/off, display program options, the volume mixer and the system regulator. Turn your Mac volume up or down To change the volume on your Mac, click the Volume control in the menu bar, then drag the slider to adjust the volume (or use the Control Strip). If the Volume control isn't in the menu bar, choose Apple menu System Preferences, then click Sound. Select the 'Show volume in menu bar' checkbox.

Note: You didn't say what model MacBookPro you have. In the current lineup, only the 15' MacBookPro still has audio line-in. Check yours to make sure it has an audio-in port.
